Charging across the city

Birmingham's go-to EV charging installers

With the Clean Air Zone in the middle of the city and more company cars going electric every year, Birmingham businesses are under pressure to offer charging. We help them do it without overloading their building or their budget.

We've installed chargers everywhere from Digbeth workshops and Jewellery Quarter offices to hotels on Broad Street and trade counters in Tyseley. Every job starts with a supply check, and where power is tight we use load management to fit more chargers on what you already have.

We install chargers right across the area, including:

  • City Centre
  • Digbeth
  • Jewellery Quarter
  • Edgbaston
  • Aston
  • Tyseley
  • Erdington
  • Moseley
  • Kings Heath

Own a house? No grant, but low running costs

Homeowners in houses can't claim a grant at the moment, but a smart charger on an overnight EV tariff makes home charging the cheapest way to run an electric car.

Chargepoints bought by a business may qualify for capital allowances on the part you pay yourself. Ask your accountant how this applies to you.

“Had a home charger fitted today, Stuart was really friendly and fitted the charger in such a short amount of time. He was really helpful with advising how it would all work once fitted. Arranging the installation was easy, too.”

Do you install chargers in Birmingham?

Yes. Our team fits workplace, car park and home chargers across Birmingham, City Centre, Digbeth, Jewellery Quarter, Edgbaston, Aston and Tyseley. Your local number is 0121 285 0136.

Does the Clean Air Zone affect my business?

Older vans and some cars pay a daily charge to drive into the zone, which is why many Birmingham firms are switching to electric. Charging at your premises makes the switch practical.

Can you install in an older city centre building?

Yes. Older buildings often have limited spare capacity, so we check the supply first and use load management or a phased plan to get the most chargers safely.

Do you cover the whole of Birmingham?

Yes, every postcode, from Sutton Coldfield to Longbridge and from Handsworth to Yardley. The areas section below links to our pages for each part of the region.

Can a business claim a grant for chargers?

Yes. The OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme pays up to £500 per socket, for up to 40 sockets, to businesses, charities and public bodies. State-funded schools can claim up to £2,000 per socket. The schemes run until 31 March 2027, and we handle the installer side of the claim.

Can I get a grant for a charger at home?

Only in some cases. Renters, and people who own and live in a flat, can get up to £500 if they have private off-street parking. Homeowners in houses can't claim at the moment, but charging overnight on an EV tariff keeps the running costs very low.

Which charger should I choose?

It depends on your car, your tariff and whether you have solar. We fit all the major brands and most often recommend Rolec, Ohme, VCHRGD, Tesla, Andersen and myenergi zappi. For businesses we'll also suggest the right app for access control and payments.

Will my electricity supply be big enough?

We check your supply, main fuse and earthing before quoting. Most homes are fine for a 7kW charger. On commercial sites we use load management to share the power, so you can often fit more chargers without an upgrade. If one is needed, we deal with the network operator.

How long does installation take?

A standard home charger is normally fitted in one visit. Commercial jobs depend on the number of chargers and any groundworks, and we agree a plan with you first, including evenings and weekends if needed.

Tethered or untethered?

A tethered charger has its cable fixed on, which is handy for one car. An untethered one has a socket, so it looks tidier and works with any car using its own cable. Businesses with mixed vehicles usually go untethered.

How do I get a price?

Fill in the form or call your local team. Photos of your parking space and fuse board often let us price a job in Birmingham without visiting, and you'll get a clear, fixed quote with any grant shown.
