Grants that are available to our customers
The following grants are available towards the installation of EV chargepoints and infrastructure:
- chargepoint grant for renters and flat owners
- chargepoint grant for households with on-street parking
- chargepoint and infrastructure grant for business staff and fleet car parks
- chargepoint and infrastructure grant for landlords, including car parks
- Workplace Charging Scheme
- Workplace Charging Scheme for state-funded education institutions
Working from home
If your primary place of work is also a residential property (your home), you can apply for the grant under this scheme as long as your address is either:
- listed as your place of business with Companies House
- recorded on your business (non-domestic) rate bill issued to you by your local council or Land and Property Services (LPS)

The Installation Process with Able Electric
- Initial Consultation: Give us a call to discuss your EV needs and requirements. We’ll have a conversation to understand your specific needs and provide expert advice on the best EV charger for you. If you already have a charger in mind, we can take that into consideration as well.
- Mobile Survey: After our initial consultation, we’ll send you a mobile survey. You can conveniently add photos of your property and electrical setup through this survey. If necessary, we can also arrange a video call or a site visit to gather more information.
- Customised Quote: Based on the survey and the charger you’ve chosen, we will provide you with a detailed quote for the required work. Our quote will be tailored to your specific installation requirements, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Booking and Deposit: Once you agree to the quote, we will book a provisional date for the installation. At this stage, a deposit may be required to secure the booking and initiate the necessary preparations.
- Network Provider Application: We will handle the application process with your Distribution Network Provider (DNO). This involves seeking permission for the installation. Once we receive the approval, we will proceed to schedule the installation date.
- Installation and Completion: Our experienced team will complete the installation according to the agreed-upon schedule. We will ensure that everything is functioning properly and meets the required standards. After the installation, we will provide you with an invoice and an Electrical Installation Certificate for your records. We will also stay in touch to ensure that everything continues to run smoothly.
